Project Overview

MFS Construction, LCC (MFS) was contracted by Colliers Engineering & Design to provide geotechnical drilling services in support of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) Broad Channel Culvert – Cross Bay Boulevard Waterfront project located beneath Cross Bay Boulevard and Broad Channel Veteran’s Park, in the borough of Queens, New York.

Project Details

MFS conducted a subsurface investigation consisting of two (2) geotechnical test borings. One (1) boring was conducted on each side of Cross Bay Boulevard in the southbound parking lane and the north bound bike lane of Cross Bay Boulevard at the project site. Each of the two (2) test borings were conducted to a depth of 49 feet below existing site grade. Prior to mobilization for the subsurface investigation, MFS obtained a New York One-Call to mark all public utilities within the area of the borings. In addition, MFS reviewed available records of existing private utilities at the project site to ensure that the borings were completed at a safe distance from existing utilities.
