Project Details

The project consisted of re-lining manhole interiors, replacing loose and damaged covers, and raising sunken manholes to the proper elevations. Work was performed with the goal of mitigating water intrusion into the sewer treatment system from unsealed and deteriorated manholes. In addition, raising sunken manholes to the correct grades eliminated potential trip hazards, alleviating safety concerns of the Park and public.

As the general contractor, MFS provided full-time on-site supervision, daily reports, and coordination with the National Park Service, US Coast Guard, and park visitors through the course of work. MFS secured each work area prior to work start in order to protect and maintain pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

This task order was a result of MFS Construction, LLC being awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) Alt/Repair Construction Services Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) for construction, maintenance, repair and alteration of real property to support the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA).
