Project Details

The Garage Stable (aka, the T.I.C., Education Center, Discovery Center, and Restroom Building) is a reproduction structure, built in the 1970s as a replica of the Garage Stable building that sat on this location and burned to the ground in the early 1970s. The building exterior had not been painted since the early 2000’s.

MFS’ primary role for this project was to prepare all the surfaces and make all necessary repairs to the woodwork and siding including dutchman repairs, composite crack fills, and replacement exterior wooden elements of the building where defects or damage is evident or reveal upon removal of paint. MFS prepared and repainted all previously painted exterior elements on all elevations including siding, wall shingles, trim, soffits, brackets, cornices, and cupolas. MFS prepared and painted window trim, garage bay doors, and the hay loft door. In addition, MFS performed glazing repairs, repainting of window sashes and doors, and the attached loft ladder on the west wall of the building.
