Project Details

As the general contractor, MFS’ role for this project began by conducting CCTV inspections of the existing lines to ensure there are no major blockages or breaks and assess the existing conditions.

MFS replaced the corroded pipe and cleaned and prepared the pipe to be jetted. MFS removed and replaced the existing deteriorated pipes and elbows at the North-West corner of the basement. MFS’s team then gained access to the existing pipe via the clean-out point and jet the line to remove any debris and buildup that was present. MFS coordinated with onsite staff to locate any leaks present at the east side of the basement where drain lines connect to the mainline.

Any leaks found were stopped by tightening up existing couplings and replaceing 13 couplings. The pipes were cleaned out and prepared for new fittings to be installed to ensure proper functionality of the system in the future.

After further investigation, MFS determined that rusting within the main sewer lines was the main reason for recurring backups. Furthermore, MFS replaced major sewer lines within the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site.
